Dear Charlie
Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. — Colossians 3:23
Dear Charlie,
It’s been just over two weeks since you were assassinated. Can you believe it? I still can’t. My feed is filled with your debate videos. Every one I watch stings. It hurts, knowing they robbed you of the one thing you were offering them, civil discourse.
When I watch you, I notice your patience, intellect, and innate kindness. No one was a match for your IQ. Yet, you were not one to boast or brag. It was a “checkmate” then, “welcome”, if they were willing to see the light.
Some were not there to learn, but rather shout and rage, and even then, you showed incredible reserve. Each time you stood firm in your convictions, backed by truth, and they unraveled their own nonsensical arguments for the world to see. You were helping people wake up.
Your premise was simple. Even when we disagree, let’s discuss and find common ground. Not talking is the plan of the enemy. It leads to violence and discord; civil war. We’ve witnessed the effects of it first hand these past nine years.
The widening gap, the great divide, everyone in their respective corners; this is what has become of us. Yet, not one conservative I know has cut someone off for thinking differently than them. If I were to count on both hands how many liberal people in my life ended their relationship with me over my views, I’d run out of fingers.
It’s very hard for me to convince some people on the left that you are not a racist, sexist, fascist, homophobe, Nazi, dictator, because they think I, too, am those things by association. Supporting Trump means you are somehow morally inferior to them, and they don’t want to discuss why.
You knew that. It’s the tide you were fighting so fiercely against. And I was rooting for you to win— win over minds, hearts, and spirits. You were a voice of reason in this ocean of insanity that’s washed over our great country.
You were calling forth the best in people, young men especially. Each point you made activated critical thinking and confidence. It was unlocking something much bigger than you— a rekindled desire for the American dream. Get married, have a family, work hard, love God and love your country.
Principles that have been buried deep under a noisier agenda of abortion, child mutilation, world wars, gender dysphoria, racism, censorship, and open borders, and the social contagion of it all.
And now you’re not here to continue the fight. You were supposed to get us through midterms, ensure JD got the presidency, and, if we were lucky, be our president one day. But most of all you were supposed to be a husband to your incredible wife, a father to your precious children.
Next to your faith, that was the value you held most dear— family. Because you knew that was the root of it all. The key to happiness, stability, and success. And the lack of which led to confusion, chaos, disconnection, depression, poverty, and mental illness.
The dissolution and deprioritization of the American family are the greatest contributors to discord in our country, and they are fueled by progressive ideology.
Broken homes and passive parents, along with the war on young minds from school and media, are how we arrived at this place. Now many people are stumbling around purposeless, single, confused, childless, lonely, and filling a God-sized void in their life with social media, porn, food, drugs, and other escapes.
They’re looking to the government to make decisions on their behalf, distribute their wealth, tell them right from wrong, good from bad, step and repeat. Yet, the government is not a trustworthy entity. Our forefathers knew this, and so did you.
Family is where values get instilled, confidence gets shaped, and fortitude is formed. It’s where we safely learn how to bravely be who God has called us to be.
You were not arguing against people, but spiritual strongholds. And, you were effective. That is why the enemy tried to silence you. A shot to the throat, of all places. The symbolism is not lost on me.
Yet, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Your murder is no exception. The response since you left has been telling. It speaks volumes about your character, impact, and legacy.
Most of all it confirms to me that God answered your prayer to be used by Him. The Lord has etched His fingerprint on every aspect of your story, to the point where your life is indistinguishable from His glory.
President Trump said at your memorial on Sunday that you were the kind of person who gave back far more than you took. I echo his sentiments. We were not worthy of what you gave us. The endless hours, sacrifices, patience, love, and optimism. Your life. And yet somehow we received it all the same. It’s not unlike God’s grace for us.
You fought for our freedom when it was in shards, saw us over the hump of nearly losing our country, and sparked a movement of truth tellers. Since then, we’ve been filled with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Erika said the evildoers responsible for your death have no idea what they’ve just unleashed. And it’s true. Even though it’s hiding in plain sight, the left can’t seem to grasp the power of your mission.
Millions of people all over the globe marched in your memory; vigils were held all over cities and campuses alike; online and off millions declared “I am Charlie Kirk”; sports teams paused their games to reflect; Elon and Trump reconciled; your memorial, assembled by your team in five days, brought over 100,000 people from all over the country, on par with the memorials of JFK and MLK.
Most notably, top government leaders spoke for five hours to an estimated 100 million people about the salvation of Jesus Christ and called for repentance and restoration of Christian values in our country.
Of all the aftermath, what I think would make you most proud, is that your beautiful wife stood on the world’s stage, took a deep, courageous breath, and forgave the young man that took your life, single-handedly breaking the spirit of anger that had gripped us all for eleven days.
In doing so, she demonstrated a concept that is unfathomable to most people, but one exemplified by Christ himself. We love because he first loved us. We forgive because we, too, need forgiveness.
Our enemy is not that young man, but rather the extreme ideology that infected his mind and the minds of so many others. We cannot find common ground with this evil, it must be defeated. With the Lord on our side, and in your memory, we will not fail.
This is not a matter of politics, but rather a war for the preservation of American values and the salvation of souls. So, we will take up our cross where you set yours down, look up to the sky and say “Here I am Lord, send me.”
P.S. — I find great comfort in the meaning of your name. Charles (Free Man), James (Follower), Kirk (Church). Surely, every one of your days was written in His book. And they led us to revival.

Beautiful. Your words capture Kirk’s essence. Your writing is powerful and a witness to the life’s journey of Charlie Kirk. I am in awe of the youth like you that Kirk touched and are compelled to continue his mission.
I went to church for the first time in ages last week- inspired by Charlie Kirk.
Most people who label him in negativity only reveal their ignorance and manifest themselves towards a lessor life.
If hateful folks would spend time listening to a few of his debates with an open mind they would discover how he captured the imagination of lost souls and shined a path to happiness and a better life… that’s what God wants for all of us.
As you mentioned his wife forgiving her husband’s killer- that was the most powerful forgiveness testimony I’ve witnessed & represents God at His core.
It’s akin to “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”.
Last- The 10 Commandments were given to us as a recipe for Happiness: The closer we follow each & every Commandment the happier we will be.
Perhaps we can imagine the 11th Commandment to be Charlie Kirk.
